There is something powerful about investing in the places we share.

Recently, we had the opportunity to reflect on the impact of the Downtown Facade Business Program through a video recap shared by Executive Director Ezekiel Tracy of Defiance Main Street & Visitors Bureau. What it shows is more than updated storefronts. It shows what can happen when a community comes together with a shared vision.

Through this program, a total of $242,500 has been raised to support improvements to downtown buildings across Defiance. Of that, $42,500 was granted through the Defiance Area Foundation, made possible by donors who believe in strengthening the spaces where our community gathers, shops, and connects.

The results are visible throughout downtown. In total, 27 buildings have been improved through this effort. Each project represents a local property owner choosing to invest in their space and in the future of our community.

This program is a true partnership. Alongside the Defiance Main Street & Visitors Bureau, the Defiance County Commissioners, and the City of Defiance, we are proud to play a role in supporting these efforts. Together, we are helping preserve the character of downtown while encouraging continued growth and vibrancy.
