At the Defiance Area Foundation, we believe generosity starts young. Our Piggy Bank Philanthropy initiative was created to teach children the joy of giving and the impact they can have in their community and beyond. The Collins Kids—Beckett, Britton, and Nadia—are a shining example of this mission in action. Beckett, Britton, and Nadia each took their piggy bank savings and chose to support causes that meant something special to them. Their story is a perfect example of how kids can make a difference when they are empowered to give.

Beckett: Feeding Families in His Community
Beckett knew that food insecurity affects many families in Hicksville, Ohio, and wanted to help. He donated his Piggy Bank Philanthropy funds to Christ’s Cupboard, a local food pantry that provides meals to those in need. His generosity ensures that families in his own community have access to nutritious food.
Britton: Supporting Youth Sports
Britton combined his love for basketball with his passion for helping others. He chose to donate his savings to the Luka Dončić Foundation, which focuses on youth development and creating positive change through sports. He understands that sports teach teamwork, discipline, and perseverance—qualities that benefit kids both on and off the court.
Nadia: Caring for Orphans in Jamaica
Nadia, the youngest of the three, has a heart for children in need. She decided to send her piggy bank donation to The Wannabees, an orphanage in Jamaica. Her gift will help provide care and support to children who need a safe and loving home.
